The 2011 UK Budget
The 2011 Budget will be the real test of the Government's promise to reform the UK's tax system "to make it more competitive, simpler, greener and fairer".
Will they deliver on reforms proposed in the consultations already announced, will those consultations have led to any meaningful changes to the draft provisions announced last year?
Watching with particular attention will be the non-doms, whose tax treatment has again been the subject of recent press speculation and beneficiaries of employee benefit trusts who are currently facing significantly higher tax charges than previously envisaged.
